Soliton spiraling in optically induced rotating Bessel lattices.

چکیده
We address soliton spiraling in optical lattices induced by multiple coherent Bessel beams and show that the dynamic nature of such lattices makes it possible for them to drag different soliton structures, setting them into rotation. We can control the rotation rate by varying the topological charges of lattice-inducing Bessel beams.

Light localization in azimuthally modulated Bessel photonic lattices
We study the propagation and localization of light beams in azimuthally modulated Bessel photonic lattices induced optically in photorefractive crystals; such lattices resemble highly nonlinear micro-structured fibres. We report on the experimental observation of discrete diffraction, nonlinear localization, and subsequent formation of spatial solitons. Our experimental results are confirmed by...
متن کاملObservation of discrete solitons and soliton rotation in optically induced periodic ring lattices.
We report the first experimental demonstration of ring-shaped photonic lattices by optical induction and the formation of discrete solitons in such radially symmetric lattices. The transition from discrete diffraction to single-channel guidance or nonlinear self-trapping of a probe beam is achieved by fine-tuning the lattice potential or the focusing nonlinearity. In addition to solitons trappe...
متن کاملSoliton control in modulated optically-induced photonic lattices.
We discuss soliton control in reconfigurable optically-induced photonic lattices created by three interfering beams. We reveal novel dynamical regimes for strongly localized solitons, including binary switching and soliton revivals through resonant wave mixing.
متن کاملRotary dipole-mode solitons in Bessel optical lattices
We address Bessel optical lattices of radial symmetry imprinted in cubic Kerr-type nonlinear media and show that they support families of stable dipole-mode solitons featuring two out-of-phase light spots located in different lattice rings. We show that the radial symmetry of the Bessel lattices affords a variety of unique soliton dynamics including controlled radiation-free rotation of the dip...
متن کاملSpiraling multivortex solitons in nonlocal nonlinear media.
We demonstrate the existence of a broad class of higher-order rotating spatial solitons in nonlocal nonlinear media. We employ the generalized Hermite-Laguerre-Gaussian ansatz for constructing multivortex soliton solutions and study numerically their dynamics and stability. We discuss in detail the tripole soliton carrying two spiraling phase dislocations, or self-trapped optical vortices.
